Is it? No Rap group or release got a grammy nomination.
Has Rap gotten so vulgar and so lacking of basic taste that it's turned off the mainstream? Has the beats gotten tired and repetative as to turn off the fringe?

On a similar note, has anyone noticed what is called country sounds a lot like southern rock from the 70s?

I knew I wasn't the only one. If The Eagles released say, A New Kid In Town today, which was a number 1 Top 40 hit from the Mid 70s, it would be a country song. I doubt it would crossover. Most of the Eagles early is country by today's standards. And you can say the same thing about acts such as The Atlanta Rhythm Section, Bob Segar, or Elvin Bishop, all of which had number one top 40 singles back in the 70s.
