So we give my three-year old niece everything in the world for Christmas (and of course she likes the "Barbie-hairstylist-table" make-up etc... included). But as Christmas celebration goes on, I see my niece running about the house with my mother's Yorkshire terrier's leash around the neck of a Barbie doll that someone had given her, and dragging the Barbie doll around the house with the leash around its neck. At first I thought it was funny and made the comment: "Teagan, stop that - someone will accuse you of being a liberal dragging a Barbie doll around like that." But then the Sadist-side of me came out and thought: "Great, my own niece is a friggin'-junior-livingdeadgirl at such a young age."
So my Goddamn niece is already showing signs of being a livingdeadslut, and I didn't get 10 acres of land and a four-stroke Yamaha 460 dirt bike.
Another Christmas that sucked.

I guess I can scrap inviting LivingDeadGirl here.
I'm not happy to hear your Christmas has "sucked". Christmas can and has it's moments, good and bad. Perhaps your New Year will be better.

Hey random where did that come from? You know what I realized this year at Christmas? Instead of people being happy with what they do have they get upset about what they don't. It's turned into a materialistic holiday. Christmas isn't about what you did or didn't get, it's about being thankful for the life you do have and using the gifts God gave you. Sorry your Christmas sucked but seriously, everyday is what you make it especially in the face of adversity. BTW it could have been worse, your niece could have had you on the leash dragging you around instead of Barbie. Something to be thankful for already. Considering how that could have turned out how was your Christmas now?

First off Faith, welcome to the forum. Make yourself at home. We're just getting started here, so it's slow goings for now. If you haven't done so, please read the forum information section above. There you will find the rules and some of what you can expect. If I may ask, where did you find out about us?
Now, to your comment. IMO, Christmas is totally different. It's almost pure materialism gone wild. It's a person's choice as to how they desire to celebrate Christmas, and I respect that. Personally speaking, I can understand the viewpoint that the material aspect of today's Christmas has diminished what some think Christmas could be.
Then again, I know people who say the whole Christmas thing is a secular thing from day one. If that's true, today's Christmas is extention of a traditional Christmas.
