Kinda mixed on this one. It irritates me that we're asked for our "Papers" for so many things. You have to show ID to get a cable connection. You have to show ID to get a tooth pulled. You have to show ID to use your debit/credit card in many businesses. We're asked for ID in too many instances, it's ridiculous.
Now Democrats are dead set against any type of voter photo law quite frankly because that would reduce their voting pool by at least 10%. Republicans know this and are lobbying hard. Personally I wouldn't mind showing my OL to vote. On the other hand, there's something about this type regulation that makes me nervous.
Hows that for wishy washy?

Another Aspect Me and a friend of mine were talking about this issue last night. He made a good point. He thinks the Democrats should be leading the charge for Voter Photo IDs. His point is that if we require Photo ID, Republicans would probably agree to furnish Free IDs to the usual parasites that govt has to provide everything for anyways. The bureaucracy would be expanded and Democrats love that. Why not jump on this opportunity to grow the public sector work force? That could result in more Union workers which the Democrats also love. This makes me, who's weary of giving the govcos yet more power, to question the motives of the Democrats who oppose this Voter Photo ID with everything they have. Exactly what votes are they terrified will be suppressed? The dead vote? The multiple Vote Vote?
