The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that schools officials in PA can't suspend students based on what they do at home on a puter. A principal in PA suspended a student for creating a fake facebook account that depicted the Principal as a hairy sex perv. The ACLU sued on behalf of the parents.
TheUSSC got one right. Officials in government schools love to try to control their students both at school, and off school grounds. That principal could have sued the students and his/her parents for slander if indeed it was slander. That's basic common sense, which has been missing from government education for years now. Next thing you know some educrat dweeb will suspend some kids for saying his teacher is "Fine" claiming such speech from a 9 year old is sexual harrassment. Whooops, too late!
Also, for the record I oppose the two bills in congress claiming to want to prevent offshore piracy. Do we really want Internet China style? Imagine that, I actually agree with the Mr Bojangles administration on something. I give him kudos for opposing this needless power grab.
