I got a new job so I get new insurance in a couple of months. but in the meantime while going to school I didn't know if I'd get a job right away. I'm on Cobra and it runs out May 31st. So since Jan. I have been looking for Affordable health care. It's been quite an eye opener. We were denied coverage time after time because of existing conditions. According to law there is a program called HIPAA which guarantees coverage after Cobra is exhausted. Which is true but the insurance companies can still charge as much as they want. This is what we were quoted from major medical. they were all about the same. With a $900 deductible the monthly premiums will be $4150 per month. That's $49,800 a year. and if I took the $1500 deductible the premium was only $3500. Seriously? And all those people that are so against the health care reform should hope to God that they don't find themselves into a situation where they have no insurance. Because they are going to pay and pay and pay. In all honesty if a person is healthy and wealthy they really don't care what other people are going thru. We live in a very selfish nation.
