After watching the #1 and #2 teams crash and burn I suspect the BCS Bowl computer will crash shortly. lol what a weird year for college football.

Lmao, it couldn't happen to a crazier method either. Until Powers That be figure out a way to make the money the bowls do with a playoff system, we're stuck with this.

It;s Ohio State vs LSU in the BCS championship game. What about Hawaii? They went 12-0. I know they aren't in BCS conference but they are in the BCS division. It seems to me Hawaii derserves to be in the Championship game more so than LSU. I could make an agrument for Va Tech over LSU.

I watched the BCS Bullst*t program. ASU (10-2)won their game Sat. night and there was talk of them playing the Fiesta bowl with Oklahoma. Seems that they were snubbed because they are a home town team so no extra money would be spent on hotel rooms, food etc. One of the reasons Hawaii got in even tho they are not in the BCS. Missouri #1 Sat. falls to #7 but they don't even get in a BCS bowl game because of their schedule? they beat Kansas and Kansas goes to the Orange Bowl? That's so messed up. college football was a big disappointment to me this year. But hey...there's always next year.

I agree with your position but I'm afraid to tell you that most coaches and athletic directors don't want a playoff in college football because most will lose their jobs if they don't get to the final playoff or close to it. Take my word for it, I'm an expert on this subject, as are most people who follow University of Tennessee football.
Most coaches can live to coach another year if they bring in 8 victories and get to a Bowl game. Many schools and alums are happy with 8 victories and a Bowl game. But, not at schools like Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Notre Dame, Texas, Auburn, LSU, Florida State, Georgia, and so on. You only win 8 games a year for several years in a row, and you'll have many wanting that coach gone. So, just imagine if there was a college football playoff. How many years will it be that the fan base or university gives a coach to bring home a a national title, or compete for one, year-in-year-out? In other words; these coaches, and fans, to a degree, can always complain how they got ripped-off the year before by being overlooked for a certain bowl and had to go to a crummy bowl, and as you would say, or use the expression I've heard for years here in Tennessee: "There's always next year," to get everybody all motivated for the next season, meanwhile while nobody is noticing, the coach keeps his job.
With a playoff system it is cut-and-dry. Either you get to the championship game, or you don't, and there is NO arguing or crying about it. No votes by sports reporters or coaches with an axe to grind, or bogus computers that are suppose to look at one's schedule to determine rank. This system we have now is flawed, and flawed makes it arguable, which is actually better for many whose jobs depend on getting to any Bowl, and fans that know deep down inside, their team isn't going to a championship playoff even if Jesus was the starting QB. But, the biggest argument I have for the present day supporters of our current system who think the Bowls would be destroyed by a playoff is; the current Bowls could still be used by teams trying to make it to the championship game. The cities hosting the Bowls NOBODY watches in mid-December would come out better because if Bum-fuck-state is playing Central Egypt Tech in a Bowl NOBODY cares about, in a playoff system people WOULD care because one of those teams might be playing your team down the road, or in the next Bowl. As it is right now, I could care less about half these Bowls, especially the one's in December, and, the teams that just happen to make it to a Bowl in their home state is bogus BS as well. How many times do I have to see Texas in the damn Cotton Bowl in my life? Or Georgia in the Peach Bowl?
I personally think Oklahoma is the best team in the country, but with the system we have, that will never be proven. And the only way we are ever going to have a playoff system is to demand Congress force the NCAA to adopt it. Why not? You'd be surprised how many Americans want a college football playoff. College football is a part of our culture, and the United States Congress damn sure hasn't got anything done recently the American people want. Maybe for once they can do something most of us want for a change.

I am a Nebraska fan(used to live in Lincoln) and they had one of their worst years ever. they weren't even invited to any of the bowls this year. I don't even remember that ever happening. anyway Coach Callihan was fired immediately after the NE/Col game. Heard a rumor that he didn't even make it off the field before he ws fired.already have a new coach hired. Bo Belini. I don't have a problem with LSU and Ohio playing for the title. Hawaii is undefeated but not a member of the BCS... they should be playing the 6th top paying bowl by trading places with ASU. Missouri should take Kansas' place in the orange bowl. There..all fixed!
