Foreign Policy A Few Days ago someone posted an op-ed dealing with Iran and that situation. He opined that Iran isn't much of a threat to the US if any at all. He stated further that he thinks the US government is exagerrating the situation to justify continuing interventionist policy in that area of the world. For the most part, I agree with that. We simply cannot afford to play globe cop anymore, the US is up to it's ears in debt. Interventionist policies haven't gotten us much anyways. All that money and all those lives, and Iraq is still a crapheap in disarray almost anarchy. Now Iran isn't a direct threat. Even if Iran were to develop nukes, any kind of practical delivery system to the US would be years away. But that's not what elites are worried about. It's what Israel might do if the Israelis think that Iran is in fact a threat. To a degree, it worries me too. It could wreck the economy. I'm not justifying the interventionist policies of Bush-Obama. If those policies were effective, we wouldn't be in this Mess. I can't help but wonder if Israeli action against Iran is inevitable, no matter what the US does. It is a legitimate concern. IT's getting to the point to where a majority concensus thinks this Greek situation isn't going to turn out good. The prevailing notion is that Greece will default and perhaps drag a couple other Euro Zoners with it.

Another related Commentary Israel is going to do what it thinks it has to do. Political fallout will be minute compared to the Economic fallout. Why are Diplos from the US and the EuroZone literally begging that Israel not do anything to Iran? They are worried about the fortunes of their governments when Economies are wrecked by Gas prices almost doubling. Can anyone imagine the speculative nervous breakdown that would occur with Oil and Gas if Israel were to take action against Iran? It's something to think about.
