In response to a post from Clay Season taking Paul E Ryan to task for promosing not to take away food stamps from those who are truly eligible.
Ryan, as well as other Republicans are scared stiff. They have good reason to be. A Lot of people get SNAP/EBT money. To seen as the ones who will take that away would cost votes, and they just lost. Obama garnered a lot of votes being the food stamp President(Unless one points that out in which case it's not true. *shrugs)
It's a complex situation. There are two classes in America. That payer, you know the poor taxpayer who's not rich enough to afford all outs the rich pols write into the tax code for themselves and their rich contributors. But they make too much money to qualify for the various credits.
Then there are those who are Paid. The Bad Choices Poor, People who breed, and the economic and political elites. Why do you think the Pols are screaming so loud about Sequestration? Because they are the ones who stand to lose the most here. Of course the Pols parade the poor out as the big victims here, but the biggest victim stand to be The Pols.
The problem is, the Paid outnumber the Payers. It's just not the poor. Go to the Hood, some old working class Mill Village, Trailer Park, and then go to the Burbs where all the Govcos live. Now who benefits primarily from Big GOVT? This is what True Conservatives and Libertarians are up against. I don't know what to suggest at this point. Sooner or later, for whatever reason, GOVT will not be able to keep all the promises it's making to everyone. Hell, it's not sustainable now. The day the cards aren't loaded, or the checks either don't come or bounce...GOVT workers other than Flighter Controllers Teachers, Park Rangers don't get paid....then we might see enough people wake up to where advocates of smaller GOVT have a chance.
