They'd be proposing innovative ways to cut spending and raise revenue. Democrats are just wanting to expand what hasn't worked.... Soak the rich and spend spend spend. 50 Million more in payoff....errr stimulus while their vote buying schem....errr entitlements are off the table. This is nothing more than the same ole same ole that helped get us in this fiscal mess. The only thing Democrats are worried about is protecting their pet programs and getting as much money they can in order to impose their idea of a perfect social order.
Republicans have proposed that we reform the tax code to get rid of loopholes and certain deductions. On the surface, that's an interesting idea. Only problem here is Republicans aren't telling us what deductions and loopholes they'd get rid of. Last time Republicans messed with the tax code, we ended up with yet another welfare program. Now Republicans are right about the spending issue, whether some voters like it or not. The problem with that is Republicans haven't exactly been the greatest of stewards of tax dollars either, especially the last 25 years.
So while both sides are protecting their interests, who's protecting ours? If you can't answer that question, do the nation a favor and don't vote next time. We can't afford it.
